Our Story
"You'd better clean it then..."
My name is Charity Haukaas, and I am the founder of The Saddle Salon. I used to play in the tack shed and pretend to ride off into the sunset. One day, while lost in that world, I was distracted by how filthy one saddle was and pointed it out to my dad. He simply said, “You’d better clean it then,” and carried the saddle into the house for me.
As I cleaned, he explained why caring for saddles mattered. He also shared stories from his early days riding and memories of the grandfather I never had the chance to meet. Through those moments, I learned that every saddle carries its own history, character, and story. That lesson sparked a lifelong passion for breathing life back into leather.

The Saddle Salon is a salon of sorts, but for saddles, tack, and other leather gear. Our mission is to restore, preserve, and maintain leather for today and for future generations.
